We have provided a simple format of Will and an Asset register which can be downloaded and filled by you on your own or you may seek our assistance.
Simple Will
A Will is a legal declaration of a person's wishes regarding the disposal of his or her property after death. The Will can be amended as many times as desired and per the law, the latest will would apply. This is the simplest tool to transfer property after death. It takes effect after death. Person must be of age 18 years and above and of sound mind. One can distribute self-acquired property as per his wish. Ancestral or HUF property cannot be part of Will. His share in HUF can be given in Will. There is a complete discretion to deal with the self-acquired property. Can reward his servant, old friend or any unrelated person which otherwise is not possible after death. Jointly held property can be given in Will to the extent of his share.
Asset Register
It is not uncommon that one person in the family has all the information about the assets, liabilities, bank lockers, passwords, nominations, etc. And if something happens to him the family struggles to find out these details. Hence it is important that the same are recorded in a systematic manner at one place. The assets register can be downloaded and is in excel so that the column may be modified as required. The same may be saved on drive and shared with family members. At Fairshare we can assist you in maintaining and regularly updating the register.
